Meet new ITF students, Compete for medals and have a blast!! Saturday May 1, 2010 This year's BC provincial championships will be held in beautiful Vernon on May 1/10, at Vernon Secondary School. The Tournament will begin at 9:30am will the official Bow In routine. Students who are currently the rank of Yellow Stripe and up are invited to participate in Patterns and Free-Sparring at the 2010 Provincials. This tournament will be slightly more formal compared to our local friendship tournaments, but as always, still safe and fun. We highly encourage all of our students, Colour Belts and Black Belts alike, to come out and join in. Tournaments are an important aspect of Taekwon-Do. They teach students Taekwon-Do protocol as well as provide an opportunity to improve their over all skills by testing them against other students of the same belt level. We will likely be arranging a bus ride to the tournament venue for all of our staff and competitors. It's the green way to go! Parents are, of course, invited to come along and cheer our school on. Want to get better at Taekwon-Do? Want to train with Taekwon-Do Masters? If so, attending this year's IIC is the way to go! It will be an intense 3 day work out, filled with in depth instruction on TKD techniques and patterns. This is an opportunity you definitely don't want to miss out on! Students who currently hold the rank of Black Stripe and Black Belt are encouraged to attend the upcoming IIC, held in Regina Saskatchewan. This seminar is an important training tool for improving technique under the instruction of several Masters. It is a fun and intense workout, examining the finer points of patterns and execution of Taekwon-do techniques. Also note that attendance of an IIC may be necessary for eligibility to examine for certain degrees of Black Belt (ex/ 3rd and 4th degree). We will likely be looking to arrange group flight rates if we have enough people interested in attending. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: MAY 25, 2010 Please speak to Mr. or Mrs. Reinelt to register.
Please ensure that you arrive 20 minutes ahead of time so that you can get changed and warmed up. As a reminder, students must wear their full dobok (no training t-shirts, please!) because exams are a formal event.
STUDENTS: Please make sure you complete your study sheet and "Permission to Promote" form, and hand both in one week before your exam date. The study sheet you receive is meant to help you study for the knowledge component of your test. However, it's not enough to only remember the words you fill in the blanks with! Study all the material outlined in your requirements packet until you become familiar with it. If you don't understand something, just ask! Our teaching staff will be happy to help you remember! If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 604-944-KICK (5425), or stop in at the Dojang |
